Messengers - A Film

DISCLAIMER: Not a fishing post

I'm not an ultra runner, nor am I even a trail runner. I more or less do this weird combination of walking/running/skipping/crawling when I'm on a trail. But, my trail time is important to me, maybe just as much so as fishing. It may be because it's my alone time in the woods or maybe it's because, for the five or ten minutes that I do run, I feel like superwoman.

What I am is very passionate about Public Lands.

Last week, a short film, Messengers, was released which documents a group of friends running 250 miles across Bear's Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments. They focus on the history of the Navajo Nation, the importance of the two monuments, and the use of messenger runners.

At the end of the day, we're all people of the outdoors. We all need to be outside, pursuing our separate passions, but all working towards the same goal of maintaining the places that allow us these adventures.

If you've got the time today, I urge you to watch this short film, visit the site, and decide what you can do for your own Public Lands.

P.S in case you're wondering, there is fishing in both Bear's Ears and Escalante, and I hope to be able to fish both someday.
