Fly shops aren't simply retail stores.
They're places you hang out, gain knowledge, meet fellow anglers, and most of all, commune with your own kind.
This past weekend Curtis Wright Outfitters held their customer appreciation day and it was a real community event. Longtime customers had the chance to catch up, newcomers made acquaintances and there were even a few walk-ins that decided to give this sport a try. I was finally able to meet customers that I've heard about for years but had never met.
Between bamboo, birds, and beer a fun day was had by all who came out!
